The punk band, Everything Ever, is currently on their winter U.S. headline tour with ROMP and The Blithedale Romance, on select dates. While they’re on this tour, they will be doing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out the first entry, with photos, after the break.
Our run of shows with The Blithedale Romance began on Thursday in Brooklyn at Don Pedro. It was nice playing so close to home and seeing our friends.
Our show the next day at Black Forge in Pittsburgh was awesome. I got to see a lot more of Blithedale’s set than I had in Brooklyn and they really ripped it. There were some weird technical issues with my amp at the beginning of the set, but I think we recovered well. It’s always fun to play with our friends in Young Lungs and Swiss Army, and their crowd was delightful.
After our show in Pittsburgh, we went to our friend Annamarie’s place in Sharon, PA. It was too late to buy booze, but it was also too late for us to really drink that much anyway. But it wasn’t too late for Joe Fuscia (our drummer for this tour) to serenade us with renditions of Van Halen’s “Jump” on the baby grand piano, or for him and Blithedale to build a blanket fort, or for us to smoke a blunt or two. We did mostly the same thing the following night, only with more beer.
The next stop was Lakewood, OH, which to this band means one thing: MELT. Melt Bar and Grilled is probably our favorite place to eat on tour. We’ve been there more than some of the locals we know. Our show at The Foundry was right down the block, so it couldn’t have worked out better. Before we got to Lakewood, both bands stopped at a Guitar Center and got some stuff and me and Joe took some legit modeling shots while Trotta conducted business.
The Foundry has incredible sound and a really cool stage. Before the set, we enjoyed a really genuine interview with Mind Equals Blown. During the show, Blithedale performed and looked like Gods. We had a blast onstage too. After the set, I fell out of Blithedale’s van and only avoided cracking my head open because my hip got stuck on their door hinge.
The final night of the tour was in Philadelphia, PA, which is another vegan food mecca. We ate at Blackbird Pizzeria. Our show at Milhouse was nuts. Blithedale put on such a crazy show- Jason launched himself into the drum kit. We’re gonna miss them a lot. We played our best set of the tour and everyone noticed how much fun we were having as a result. This tour was awesome and we owe a lot to everyone who was involved: The bands we played with; the people that gave us a place to stay; Amber Orlino, who is responsible for all of the professional photos in this entry; the Blithedale Romance and Romp; and of course our brother Joe Fuscia, who killed it on drums for this tour, and will be sharing his talents with us on our upcoming EP. Playing the new songs with him on this tour made us, even more, excited for the upcoming recording process.
Now that the tour is over, we have one show left this year in our hometown of Staten Island, NY. After that, we’re scheduled to head into the studio and begin tracking a new EP to follow up our full-length, Solid Ground. This was an amazing year for us – we toured all over the US, released a record, and made countless friends that we know we’ll have forever. Thanks for taking the time to read this diary, and keep an eye out for us next year.
