In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the rock band, 3 By Design, talk about one of their crazy moments from touring. You can check out the feature, after the break.
One of the weirdest experiences, when we were on a tour trek, happened when we were driving through the middle of nowhere, Arizona and stopping at random gas station/rest stop to fill up the bus. As we were pumping the gas we were approached by a stray dog that seemed friendly but hungry. Being the animal lovers we are and not wanting to leave the pooch with an empty stomach we dug into the grub we brought with us for the band to eat while we were on the road. We fed the homeless dog some deli meats and jerky to help it out.
Not even 15 seconds passed when we realized that two more strays appeared on the scene, we started to put food out for them and within seconds we were surrounded by about 20 stray dogs that came straight out of the shadows! As much as it was heartbreaking to see so many homeless dogs it was also kind of creepy, like a scene from the cult film Alice Cooper starred in “Monster Dog,” or Wes Craven’s “The Breed” unlike the dogs in those films and lucky for us these dogs we not evil or possessed but they were hungry so we fed them all and made a call to the local no-kill animal shelter who came and picked up the pack (and hopefully found them all good homes.) After all was said and done, the dog’s bellies were full and it was the band that ended up hungry and food-less.
