After a blur or a 4th of July partying in Chicago, we set our sights on Detroit to play The Fillmore. This venue is one of the most incredible places we’ve had the privilege of playing. We were set for a huge 89X Birthday Bash and it was a huge and energetic crowd all night. Such an awesome crowd, check out the video and pictures. (see photos 1 and 2 below)

After a killer night in Detroit, we made our way down the road for a show at a cool room in Indianapolis called The Egyptian Room. Awesome crowd and a fan in Indy beat-boxed a special intro for me. The strangest things happen on the road.

After a day off, next stop was Cleveland, OH. Another incredible House of Blues venue and the vibe all day felt like this show was going to be crazy. From the first song we played, this crowd was electric and ready to rock out with us. Incredibly memorable show and we can’t wait to get back to Cleveland again. (see photo 3 below)

Cincinnati was our next stop on tour and while we’ve had pretty good weather so far, this day was cursed with Flash Flood warnings, torrential downpours and just plain old sucky weather. This makes load in and driving miserable, but we successfully got our gear into a newly renovated Bogart’s. Maybe the storms kicked some extra energy in, but you’d have sworn we played Cincy many times before as the crowd sang our songs and it felt incredible. Both Ohio shows rocked and we can’t wait to get back to some killer rock music fans and some new friends! (see photos 4 and 5 below)

It’s a little bit of a haul from Cincy to Wallingford, CT, so we spent our day off driving, driving and driving. Up and over mountains and some crazy back roads, we made our way to the Oakdale Theatre. The Oakdale is pretty crazy with its dome look and has a massive Theatre attached as well, so the venue as a whole is pretty insane. The dome filled up quickly and it was a sick show. Next stop Boston. Boston was one of the very memorable stops from our previous tour a couple months before with Trapt as we made a ton of new fans that night and Boston knows how to rock. The day was chaos from the get go as House of Blues Boston is right across the street from Fenway Park that was also hosting a sold out Jason Aldean show. That means throw your gear out and drive 2+ miles to try and find a spot for the bus and run like crazy. But the venue is an amazing HOB and although it was an early show, this crowd came jacked up for the entire event. The response was insane and there was a really cool energy all night. Absolutely incredible experience and show! (see photos 8 and 9 below)

Anyone that’s ever toured the NE knows that it’s a pain in the ass. Tolls, bad roads, traffic, parking, people, it’s a lot of work to get from Point A to Point B, so we knew we were in for a few days of chaos ranging from Boston to Long Island to NYC. Fortunately the drives aren’t long and we rolled into Huntington, NY early and ready to take on our next show. Trent and I got some early morning eggs and crepes at a cool Mom and Pop restaurant and weathered the 90 degree weather with insane humidity. The Paramount is another ridiculously impressive venue that had been renovated over the past few year and the crowd was really cool as we got a mix of fans from previous NY shows and a lot of new faces as well. We rocked so damn hard that Riplee blew his pants out…it happens. (see photos 10, 11 and 12 below)

NYC here we come. We know the deal about Manhattan Island and that it’s always going to be a challenge getting into and out of the venue. Add almost 100 degree temps and high humidity and you’re destined for a crappy start to the day…but it’s rock-n-roll. We successfully got all of our gear in and spend about two hours trying to secure a parking spot for our bus and trailer. Paid the meter and still got a ticket…still don’t know why (4th time in 4 visits to NYC). Irving Plaza is a cool place with its upstairs venue and vibe. We were ready to rock hard and this was by far our best New York performance to date. The crowd was ready to go when we were and it was awesome. We definitely can’t wait to get back and see our NY fans again. We had some awesome New York Pizza this time, we got to hang out with our buddy Paul McCoy (12 Stones) and it was a killer NY experience…a great end to a great night.
