The rock band, A Skylit Drive, is currently on their co-headline U.S. tour with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, as well as Wolves At The Gate, For The Win and Breaking Through. While they’re on this tour, the band will be doing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out the first entry from the band’s vocalist, Michael Jagmin, after the break.
The tour started with a relatively short drive from Lodi, California to Anaheim with high spirits and high hopes. Chain Reaction, being the staple venue it is, was the perfect start for the new line up. The crowd never disappoints, and as soon as we hit the stage it was like we had been doing it with the two new guys for years. We knew that night we were ready for anything headed our way.
After the drive back up north we landed in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. The day started with some parking wars, but once it was all sorted the rest ran smooth. Some of us went on our daily gym visit to get away from the tour life for an hour or so. On the road, it’s nice to step away and get a breath of normal life at some point every day. Even though, it was only the second day of the tour. It keeps you grounded. The show was one of our favorite SF stops so far! Afterward we all took in the entertainment down on the streets. Rest assured, you’re guaranteed to see some silly things down in SF.
The next day was a show we were all looking forward to. The hometown show in Orangevale, CA at the Boardwalk. ASD as a group have been playing here for about 8+ years. It’s always a welcoming feeling coming back. Family and friends all showed up. The show of course was one to remember.
Our next stop was back down in Southern California, in West Hollywood at the Whiskey a Go-Go. Like in San Fran, the day started with parking difficulties, but once that was all good the day was rad! Some of us hit the gym while others checked out some of the good food downtown. For all you burger lovers, The Burger Lounge is spot on. The show that night just so happened to be our favorite Hollywood show to date. We got to hang with some of the ASD team and friends after the show. We had a blast!
Now it was time to head out of California. The next stop was Phoenix, Arizona at Joe’s Grotto. Most of us were dreading the heat but were grateful for the perfect day we received. Everything ran smooth getting ready for the show. After that was the waiting game to play. The show was great. The crowd definitely made us feel at home at a venue we had never been to. We’re looking forward to our next visit back.
