A Skylit Drive – 2nd ROAD BLOG from Co-Headline U.S. Tour with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

The rock band, A Skylit Drive, is currently on their co-headline U.S. tour with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, as well as Wolves At The Gate, For The Win and Breaking Through. While they’re on this tour, the band will be doing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out the second entry from the band’s vocalist, Michael Jagmin, after the break.

Up next on the tour was El Paso, Texas at the Electric Banana. We can’t ever deny the good crowd and good people we meet in El Paso. There wasn’t much to do around the venue, so we took the time to get caught up on some things we hadn’t had time for on the tour yet. The show was great, the crowd was killer but like most shows it was over and on to the next one before we knew it.

The next stop was Jake’s Backroom in Lubbock, Texas. After some technical mishaps the night before some of us started our day off at Guitar Center. After everything got sorted the day got much easier. After sound check a few of us popped into the gym literally next door to the venue. We always look forward to a gym being right there. Also, we get pretty pumped on the Jimmy John’s just across the street. All in all, Jake’s is always a good time. The show was probably my favorite in Lubbock to date. I can’t wait to go back.

After a grueling overnight drive we made it down to Mission, Texas for the Never Say Never Festival. We immediately ran into tons of familiar faces upon our arrival. One of the best things about festival days is seeing all our friends, but the busy schedules never quite permit seeing everyone we’d like to. Besides that, the show was great! This was our third time playing NSN, and we love it every single time. We look forward to our fourth visit!

After another long drive back up to Grand Prairie (Dallas), Texas we arrived at Day 2 of South By So What. This was the day we were all looking forward to. SBSW this time around would be ASD’s fifth time on the festival. We had a great set time at 3 on the main stage. The kids were eager, awake and ready to be the crowd we had been waiting for. The show went off without a hiccup, we met tons of amazing fans at our merch table & with playing mid day we had much more time to catch up with old friends. The day was all we had hoped for.

After 2 long festival days it was back to the tour which landed us in San Leon (Houston), Texas at the 18th Street Pier Bar & Grill. We had never been to San Leon, so my fiancé and I ventured off to enjoy some Yelp praised Oysters at a little restaurant called Gilhooley’s. They certainly did not disappoint. The rest of the guys relaxed & enjoyed the venue being right on the water. While the venue was small the sound we received was up there with some of the best we had ever come across. It became known later in the evening that the house sound guy used to tour with Led Zeppelin. At that point things really started to make sense, haha!
