Growing up, the first concert I vividly remember was the Taylor Swift: Fearless Tour. I went with my friends that I danced competitively with in Alabama. If memory serves, we went straight from rehearsal to the concert, getting dolled up in the dressing room at the dance studio. We all donned sparkly cowboy boots and curled our hair. I rocked a side pony and Halloween orange and black braces, and as Taylor Swift came out onstage in a sparkly marching band outfit, 12-year-old me lost her mind. From that moment on, the popstar dream was alive and well in my little pre-teen soul. I didn’t know when or how, but I would make it to a stage in my own marching band outfit one day. 12 years later, I’m a professional songwriter with a GRAMMY on top of my piano... aaaand that’s the power of Taylor Swift!
