My dream tour would be more a festival style week-long house show with a different line-up each night. Of course with plenty of time for discussion and interaction with the artists. How many times have you just wanted to sit in a room five feet from the person who wrote the soundtrack to your break-up, your high school traumas, your existential crisis when you were 25 Exactly.
First night would open with Nick Drake playing Pink Moon front to back, followed by Derek Webb; just to get all the emotional catharsis we can into one night. Night two; Thom Yorke and Bon Iver swapping acoustic covers of each other’s songs. Night three Moses Sumney, Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac, and The Tallest Man on Earth. Night four…hmm, I suppose no line-up is complete without Robin Pecknold, in this fantasy show he’ll sing a variety of duets with Annie Lennox. Wilco will make a surprise appearance with the Tweedy lulling everyone to sleep with ‘Either Way”.
Sean Carey would open night five, followed by Anadel accompanied by David Ramirez. Alright, honestly this festival could go on forever, but since we only have the venue through tonight we’ll close things out with Agnes Obel and Amanda Bergman joining forces, to send us off knowing that in spite of the crazy times we find ourselves in everything is going to turn out fine.
Keep up with the band on Facebook!
