I feel like this is one of those questions that musicians have given thought to, even if they’ve never been asked directly. For me, my ultimate tour lineup would be a combo of my biggest musical influences, and artists who I’d just be honored to see live.
If any artist could join me on my own tour, I would love to have Amy Winehouse and Billie Eilish. Amy was a huge influence on my early vocal development – I just loved how she never performed a song the same way twice, and there was something very raw in the way she’d effortlessly bring the pain and emotion behind the stories she was telling to the forefront of her performances. As an actor, that resonated with me when I approached my work as a musician because I would tackle lyrics like lines and bring the persona/story to life with the emotions behind it. Amy did an amazing job at painting pictures and scenes of her experiences.
Billie is a more modern influence for me. Her production and dark but soft sound resonate with me. She, to me, is at the forefront of a familiar, but still innovative sound. I love referencing her tracks when creating my own work, but then bringing it into my world.
If I could see a concert of any lineup, I would love to see performances from some of the legends like Billy Joel, David Bowie, Elvis, Frank Sinatra – simply to absorb their way of performing and their showmanship. I think I’d be in awe seeing any of them live, before my eyes.
