Ashley Allen – 2nd ROAD BLOG from 2013 Australian Tour with Taylor Dayne

The New York based pop artist, Ashley Allen, is currently on an Australian tour with Taylor Dayne. While she’s on this tour she will be doing an exclusive blog for us. You can check out the second and final entry, after the break.

6/2/13 approx. 12:50pm

So last night was show number 3 and now there are 7 more to go. Still I am battling this cold and it is driving me insane. I am trying so hard to get better. Thankfully, I think it is slowly going away. Last nights show was in Bankstown and it was the biggest show we’ve played so far. Taylor is the sweetest. She wore my heart on stage and gave me a shout out, which I thought was super nice of her. I’m glad that she’s warming up to me it’s definitely going to make the rest of the tour a breeze.

The weather in Sydney right now is so gloomy its raining and there’s tons of fog. Good news is that tomorrow is supposed to be super nice out and tomorrow I have a day off! I love playing shows but I am definitely excited to have Monday and Tuesday off to go out and explore.

Yesterday before the show I did some shopping and saw an old friend which was nice. He’s super handsome :-x. Not sure if I’ll see him again while I am here but that’s alright there’s tons of more friends to make.
Tonight’s show is early but about an hour away. I am not sure what time we will get back to the hotel but I wont lie… if we get out early.. I wouldn’t mind getting a drink.

So last night in Mt. Pritchard was amazing. I could feel the energy. I was nervous because of my cold about singing again but everything went better then planned. I had so much fun on stage last night and I could feel the love. Once the show ended I hung out with Taylor for a bit and then went back to Sydney.

Today is the first day off and I am so excited! Planning on going to Bondi for lunch and then to The Rocks for drinks and dinner. Tomorrow we have off too and finally I will get to see some Koalas! FINALLY!

Having today off was amazing. First we walked down Oxford St and went shopping then hopped on the bus to Bondi for lunch. It’s honestly incredible to see leaves change in the fall, but I wasn’t into having it be super chilly in June.

After Bondi we went to The Rocks to see the Vivid Lights Festival and it was honestly unreal. I feel so blessed to see something and bright. It was super trippy and just super awesome. Not sure how else to explain it. When we were done wit that we went to this bar nearby but quickly ended up at some speakeasy type of place when all was said and done. It was absolutely awesome. Met some new friends and it’s no secret that I love making new friends. Well… other then that it’s time to sleep… day 2 of being off is tomorrow! YAY! (:

6/5/13 approx. 8:30 am

Let’s just say that having these last 2 days off was definitely needed. Being able to relax and explore definitely eased the mind. Yesterday I was able to go to the aquarium and the zoo. FINALLY I was able to see some kangaroos and koalas. Also, I was able to pet a kangaroo! YES! After the zoo we went to starbucks (very American I know) then went to our new favorite bar in Sydney for some drinks. Made new friends and hung out with them for a bit before calling it a night around 11:30 pm.

Today begins the next rounds of shows though. Tonight we have a long drive to Newcastle. Luckily, I am feeling better though so that’s a plus! Let’s do this… round 2!
