In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the pop artist, ASHY, shares one of her stories from being on the road. You can check out the story below:

The band and I were performing at 2024 SXSW in Austin, Texas. We had about 9 showcases by this point—we had performed a lot! We’d met a lot of great people and connected with new fans. This story happened after one of our last shows, where we debuted some new music from my latest EP—and the audience reactions were epic.

After a huge day of performing, the band and I were starving for dinner. The whole trip, I had been looking forward to going to this restaurant in Austin because I’d been hit up via Instagram DM by some people from an app who were promoting themselves at SXSW (or so I thought…). We showed up at the restaurant and I presented the staff with my code and the info the app had sent me, and they said… “We’re so sorry, but this might’ve been a scam.”

You can imagine the devastation I felt—and the thought of having to find another place to eat after such a long day—but the staff felt so bad, they went to their manager, and they ended up giving us free drinks and a table to sit at. We ended up having one of the best nights on the tour, but it was pretty funny when it happened. Classic me, getting scammed, haha.

We stayed out till late and just enjoyed being together. Very wholesome of us.
