Awaken I Am – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, Luke McKenzie of the rock band, Awaken I Am, talks about his first concert ever. You can check out the feature, after the break.

My first ever concert was back in 2016 I saw Underoath touring in support of Define The Great Line. They were supported by Emery and The Amity Affliction.

I remember as a drummer being fixated on Aaron Gillespie the drummer from Underoath. Being totally engrossed in the performance with how much energy and how hard he hit as a drummer. I was 16 at the time and that show definitely put me on the path to pursuing music as a career.

I remember for the next 12 months after I would just sit there for a couple of hours each day watching live drumming videos of Aaron Gillespie. That influence has definitely played into myself as a drummer now especially in the energy I try to bring to every live performance.
