awfultune – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, the pop rock artist, awfultune, talks about the story of her first experience with live music. You can check out the story, after the break.

My first concert ever was in 2016 seeing Kesha at the New York State Fair. It was a part of her “Kesha and the Creepies: Fuck the World Tour” and I was so excited when my mom got us tickets. I have always loved Kesha since I was a kid so it felt super unreal to see and hear her live for the first time.

The concert was right when Kesha was dealing with her lawsuit and fighting to get her new music out. She wasn’t allowed to perform any of her new material on stage and you can tell it was hurting her. My heart broke for her. She was super drunk, forgetting the lyrics and having such a fun time and we were all living for it.

I believe it was right around the time that Donald Trump had won the presidential election against Hilary Clinton because I remember Kesha screaming at the top of her lungs, “Donald Trump, you fucked with the wrong bitch!!!”Parents were so mad that she was swearing, but she just didn’t care. I remember my mom saying, “I don’t remember Kesha ever cursing this much”

You can tell she was grateful to the universe for everything. Seeing such a free spirit like her literally be brought back to life on stage in front of our eyes was pure magic. She was chanting for her freedom. It was seriously the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
