Belle Mt. – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

I’d say that the most recent thing that’s gone wrong on tour happened at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas this year. We had a day off between shows before our big showcase out there and so we decided to all rent the electric bikes and scooters that they had all over town. After riding around from bar to bar for an afternoon and getting caught up with the masses of people that descend on Austin for SXSW we decided to head back to the multi-story car park where we’d parked our tour bus (Minivan) so we could race to see what those babies could really do. Ben was on an electric bike, Chris raced ahead on a scooter and I was also on a scooter. When we got to the top level myself and Ben were almost neck and neck, but he was edging ahead a little; so I decided it’d be smart to cut a corner at full speed which resulted in a not so smart collision into the side of his bike and me flying off onto the Concrete and landing directly onto my wrist. We spent the next 24 hours icing it and panicking that it was getting worse and worse and we’d have to cancel the show, but somehow after a whole load of painkillers, I managed to make it on stage for the set and played a painful 30 minutes without the crowd noticing (I hope). Definitely learned my lesson about making sure I get the faster scooter next time.
