– On our first ever tour, the van that was rented was from a friend of the band that we were supporting. This van is huge as we were sharing it with the other band, and apparently, there was a “special way” to open and close the side door (whatever that means) and let’s just say this van has been used a fair bit, to say the least. Anyway, not mentioning any names but someone closed the door the incorrect way – yes there is more than one way to close a door supposedly, and from then on it wouldn’t open. So for most the tour both bands had to climb over the front seats to get into the back, David being tiny found it a breeze but with everyone else being significantly taller, a lot of techniques were being displayed throughout the tour. This was until we managed to get it open again some days later, only for it to actually come off the van. This was while we were in bristol, so while the other band looked for a garage, we thought we would go for a drink in one of the local pubs. We were greeted by a guy who was obviously a regular at the pub, as well as regular drunk. After commenting on our look (in a jokey way) and saying David’s hair was ‘scary’, he then proceeded to rip his trousers with his bare hands, and then flash his penis. So that made Bristol a date to remember.
– Ollie and Max got really drunk after a show, went back to the Travelodge, and genuinely booked a trip to Amsterdam. To this day, none of us (including them) don’t know how they did it, one because we don’t have any money and two because those two couldn’t organize a trip to Tesco while sober.
– For about a year after we started, we gigged a lot in London, and as none of us could drive, we would have to get the underground, and carrying amps and guitars on the tube was a bit of a nightmare, but also pretty funny as Ollie hit countless people in the face with the end of his bass, not to mention getting it trapped in the train door as we got off. Also, James falling over into an elderly woman’s lap while the train started to move made for an awkward remainder of the tube journey.
