Blameshift is currently on an awesome tour called the “Beneath The Scars Tour” with headliners 12 Stones, as well as supporting acts Digital Summer and Throwing Gravity! The band lead singer Jenny, will be writing a Road Blog entry once a week to keep you updated with everything that is going on with the tour. The first update can be read after the break.
Hey y’all, my name is Jenny, and this is the first installment of a weekly tour blog I will be doing with Digital Tour Bus! For those who don’t know me I am the lead singer of NY based rock band, Blameshift. We are currently on a 5 week tour with 12 Stones, Digital Summer and Throwing Gravity. Having just come off an amazing tour with Straight Line Stitch on the West Coast we were looking forward to keeping the momentum going and heading back towards the East Coast.
The tour started in Kansas City at a venue called Aftershock. We played there on our last tour and were really excited to kick off the tour in such an awesome venue. Luckily for me, I became friendly with the chef the last time we were in town and he made me some really good vegan food. Yes, I am a vegan and it can definitely be extremely challenging on the road. So when a venue can actually make me something I can eat, I’m excited!
Earlier in the day we had taken our bus to a mechanics shop to try (again) to get our AC fixed since it’s been broken all summer. When they still didn’t have it done by the time we were set to load in, one of the mechanics towed our trailer to the venue with his pickup truck. The minute we met our tour mates in 12 Stones and Digital Summer we knew that this was gonna be a tour we would never forget. In all the years I have been touring, I have never met bands that we instantly connected with like these two bands. The show was a lot of fun just as I had imagined it would be. We got to see some old friends, I was given hand made jewelry by a fan and the mechanics who fixed our AC showed up (with the bus).
Over the last five days we have played shows in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Arkansas. The shows have been awesome and we have been doing our fair share of partying. Tour rolls on tonight to Nashville, Tennessee where we pick up our other tour mates, Throwing Gravity. This tour will definitely be one for the books and I look forward to keeping you guys posted on the daily tour shenanigans.
Till next time…
xoxo
