Right before the pandemic happened, we got this crazy opportunity to go on a World Tour with Fairmont Hotels and Montreux Jazz Festival. To this day, it’s probably one of the best opportunities I’ve had in my career. Definitely the best tour I’ve ever been on. It was absolutely insane, so much so that I sometimes wonder if it REALLY happened.

The whole thing just didn’t make any sense. We stayed in 5-star hotels around the world and only travelled business class. It felt just like a dream. My band and I performed in 6 different Fairmont Hotels around the world from Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London, Barcelona to Montreux. They were all just incredible and unique hotels, and we were so well treated and taken care of. We ate the best food and drank the best wine. I remember one afternoon smoking Shisha in the pool in Abu Dhabi with my band, it was 38 degrees and I joked that I could almost retire after a tour like this.

The crazy thing is the minute we went back home after the last show in Montreux, the next day the first lockdown happened and we couldn’t go anywhere! Careful what you wish for... (Haha)
