There are so many dream tour scenarios that I can think of.. so many bands from the past that I would love to have seen in their prime. The most fascinating to me would be the ones who died while they were still in their prime.. the “27 club”. That would be a hell of a tour.

Robert Johnson - obviously from an earlier era than most of the others included in the list, but a seminal blues guitarist whose work heavily influenced the pioneers of Rock & Roll. I can’t imagine how cool it would’ve been to be in a juke joint in the 30’s when he showed up with his guitar.

Jimi Hendrix - another guitar idol who I spent many of my early years on guitar trying to replicate his playing style. I would give anything to have been able to stand in front of Jimi and his wall of cranked Marshall amps.

Janis Joplin - she had a tragically beautiful, gritty vocal prowess that few since have been able to come close to recreating, though many have tried. Just another powerful and magnetic personality I would’ve loved to have seen.

Jim Morrison - a poet, a rebel, and most importantly for these purposes - a wild and unpredictable frontman and performer. Many of The Doors performances are still the things of legend.

Kurt Cobain - another early idol for me. The songwriting, the angst, the self-expression was something I connected with from an early age.

Amy Winehouse - incredible voice and songs that have stood the test of time. Another iconic artist gone too soon.

Though some of these artists come from different periods, they all tragically passed away at the age of 27. I think everyone would love to know what else they could have accomplished - what other groundbreaking songs and albums would have come through them if they’d lived longer. My dream tour scenario would be standing in the wings watching the members of the 27 Club performing in their prime.
