BB – KING –
Carm’s main musical influence… why she put down her violin and picked up an electric guitar is BLUES. She could ramble on for hours about all of her favorite bluesmen…how she wants to be one… or how she would DIE to be hauled up at some bar in New Orleans sinking whiskeys and chatting stories with ANY one of the greats. Landed on BB cos I know he has a special place in her heart and I remember her crying when he died. Which in turn broke my heart cos we’re connected like that. Buddy Guy, we had the honor of already touring with… otherwise he’d defo be on here… but it’s important to give someone new the slot.

PRINCE –
As far as songwriters, instrumentalists, performers… ‘freaky mother fuckers’ go… there is NO one better for me than PRINCEY. My whole family absolutely loves him and we all know the words to pretty much every one of his songs. He embodies his music… he sells every word in the way he looks and the way he moves. He tells you stories through every fabric of his being. He’s the ultimate artist for me. Untouchable.

On the day he died, we were in the back of the riot van we used to tour in, on the way to a show (that we then actually missed) and we all were just totally numb. Very sad day for music that one.

SISTER ROSETTA THARPE –
Because she is the original.

Most bad arse.

Female guitar player.
