As a singer, it’s absolutely essential to warm up before you sing. 3 of us sing in one way or another so we tend to warm up together usually an hour or so before the show. We have a CD that we go off, so we usually do it in the van or if we can find somewhere quiet backstage we’ll do it there. It consists of breathing exercises designed to engage your diaphragm. Then chanting (if you’re a singer look into that, it’s so good) & then sirens followed by a few basic melody excursuses. Then we sometimes blast through a few of our own songs to practice harmonies.

I don’t eat 2 hours before I go on stage, just because personally It makes me feel sick when I’m moving around & using my stomach and back muscles to sing and I’m full of food. Also, drink plenty of honey & lemon, it’s the bomb. Jord does about 30 minutes of drum exercises before he plays to warm up to loosen himself up. & I think Mike just smokes.
