Before I get started on this, I’d like it to be known I’m currently writing this while watching “The Deer Hunter” in a small, dark, empty room. If you think I’m strange, you’re probably right. It’s just my creative process. Which brings me to the topic at hand, my dream tour.
First off, for me, it’s all about movies, captivating visuals, big sounds and an emotional journey of characters I want on my stage. The funny thing about my ideal dream tour is my ambitions and ideas are constantly changing. So it’s really hard to pinpoint where I see myself months or years from now. But I can tell you what I would like to accomplish before I retire. There’s a certain feeling you get when you go see an incredible film. Everything is just right. From the acting, the emotion and the score. It all just works. Growing up I always thought to myself, how cool it would be to infuse that same feeling that a film could give me, into a different world. A different stage if you will. And that’s where my long journey to middle began. I’ve spent years of my life finding myself. Finding my characters. My sound. Now I spend most nights staring at myself in the mirror, racking my brain on how can I bring some of my ideas to life. To me, those are the best ideas. You see it’s easy with film. You can take your time. But on a musical stage, everything is in the moment and there’s no going back. If you mess up, you have to own it.
The most exciting part to me is bringing that dark emotion. That “epic” tone behind every drum hit. One day, I would really love to share a stage with 30 Seconds To Mars. Their music and fans have inspired me a great deal. I remember listening to them back in high school and still do to this day. Everything in their music is just “Big” and their fans are even louder. I would really love to be a part of that world they all live in and with it. I would have film-like visuals onstage, mimicking what the audience will be listening too and myself interacting with those same visuals, colliding the two together. I want the audience to feel like they are in a damn movie theater. Like the movie has come to life before their very eyes. But hey… that’s just one idea.
