So the Seattle show was great! Did some cool radio interviews, met more friends/fans and Rhys and Kerrod got tattoos at the shop next to the venue! The next day started at full pace with a trip to a new van company. We’re getting a new van!!!!! This time however, it’s not as big…..and doesn’t take a trailer, so the Drowning Pool Production team have been GREAT helps by taking our large stuff with them in their trailer, so we aren’t pressed up against the windows in our new van like sardines! Such legends! Once we had our new van, we dumped our old one of the side of the road in oncoming traffic and took bets on how long it would last… not really, we took it to the Mercedes dealership in Seattle where it would be fixed once and for all (yeah, right), and then shipped back to Florida. Good Riddance! haha. After Sorting all the van troubles, we headed into the mountains to Spokane, WA. What a drive! Probably the most beautiful drive of the tour! And what a show! The Knitting Factory is such an awesome venue! just so well set up. We met up with local radio Legend, Jeff, who hung out with us and was a great guy! After the show, we headed to our hotel. Because we’re now in a 15 seat van, we can’t afford to be sleeping in it in below freezing temps, so hotels it is!!
After a quick sleep in a comfortable bed, we were off to Missoula, MT. These drives are sensational! The mountains are so cool and nothing like what we have back home. We’re loving it here. Entering Missoula, we got our first taste of driving on ice! talk about a rush. We made it though, and the new van hasn’t got a scratch on it! haha. The show in Missoula went off like a frog in a sock! Such great people, and we met this one dude who dislocated his jaw in our mosh pit, then got his friend to punch it back in place. Brutal. We no longer have water bottles either. Instead we’ve got a case full of ice blocks! lol. After another quick hotel stay, we cruised it to Billings, MT. We sadly drove out of the mountains and down onto the start of the flats. Billings was the last city with a cool view. But we didn’t mind! The show was another sweet venue with a sweet crowd! We played in an old theater and the acoustics were out of this world! We’ve been getting some sweet go pro footage, make sure you check it out in our video once the tour is done!
Our next show was 7 hours away in Minot, ND but we had a day off in between, so we decided to smash the drive out straight after the show. Which turned out to be a great idea because we got into Minot around lunchtime the next day. We checked in to our hotel and went straight to sleep! Never slept so good in my life. The day off was much needed. We went to the cinemas and saw Dumb and Dumber, not the best movie, but was great to sit and do nothing for 2 hours, haha. The following day was the Minot show, seen as how we were already in Minot, we all slept in til about 1 pm, haha. That is unheard of, but so good! The venue was small, but amazing! The bar owner kept the free drinks flowing and made sure that we always had a drink in our hands. This proved to be amazing, until the end of the night came, and we we all so hammered that we can’t remember packing up all our stuff. Apparently we did though! haha. Drunk ABOS is clearly a productive lot! The next day was obviously a tough one for all of us, hahahaha. We had to drive 8 hours to Minneapolis and it was one of the toughest drives we’ve done. We had to leave at 8 am to get there by a reasonable time, and we at least got away in time. We took turns at driving and made it in one piece, haha.
Minneapolis was awesome fun and another great show filled with meeting new people. What made it better was after the show, we finally went to WHITE CASTLE! BOOM! 10 sliders later and i was regretting life. Still hit the spot though… DAY OFF AT THE MALL OF AMERICA!!!!!!! We spent the following day hanging out at Americas biggest mall. So many cool things in one place. Roller coasters, beers, food. Everything. Great day of resetting. Tonight we’re in Racine, Wisconsin. We’re playing at another cool pub with great food and sick set up. Should be an amazing show!
