Cael Dadian – PRESHOW RITUALS

Performing a show is a sacred act. Every sacred act deserves a sacred ritual before it. Personally, I just like to wing it. My best moments on stage are usually when I improvise, freestyle, and when I think the least. The less I’m worried about how my voice sounds or how I look, the better my show becomes.

Obviously, there are a few important things to do before I hit the stage. I’m always drinking as much water as possible the week prior to performing. We all need to do our vocal warmups an hour before we start singing and that’s before any type of singing. You’re for sure gonna catch me lightly mouthing my songs right before I go on as I don’t wanna kill my voice right before I perform. I gotta make sure I remember the words to my songs which have not always been my strong suit.

I need to make sure my spirits are the highest when I perform. The world needs to be a good place in that moment and if it’s not then I have to make it one. It’s all about feeling over thinking. I always have my friends at my shows as they’re key contributors to good vibes. The best thing to do before a show is to play a show.
