Cameron Dettman – DREAM TOUR

In this Dream Tour segment, the singer-songwriter, Cameron Dettman, lets you know who he would like on his ultimate tour lineup. You can check out the feature, after the break.

I have always had a very eclectic mix of influences so I think my dream tour would definitely reflect that. This would be a 4 act lineup. I feel like that’s the perfect amount of acts for a big show in my opinion. Assuming I’m opening up the show, I would go first. I would have an 8 piece band with me. Drums, bass, keys, trumpet, sax, trombone, 2 background singers and myself. Superband. I would play my little heart out and then introduce the next act.

John Mayer. He is one of my biggest music heroes and to share the stage with him is a huge dream of mine. His guitar style and lyrics have resonated with me with every record he has released particularly “Continuum”. I’d prefer if he played songs mostly from that record. Maybe some “Battle Studies” thrown in.

Next up would be Eagles. I was terribly sad when Glenn Frey passed in 2016. I feel like most people’s favorite Eagle is Don Henley, understandably so, but I always loved Glenn. His voice was always very soothing and had a hint of a country twang to it. So the Eagles would do their set, and they’d invite me out to sing “Peaceful Easy Feeling” with them.

Finally, the headlining band would be Earth, Wind & Fire. To me, they are the ultimate super band. 9 members. All masterful players. Coordinated dance moves. Insanely high energy. And not to mention their songs are so intricate yet so catchy and melodic. To share the stage with EW&F would truly be a check off my bucket list.

After the show, we would all have a crazy after-party with instruments waiting at said party. We would all drink and jam together until the morning comes. Then I’d wake up and be really sad that it was all a dream…
