Cancer Bats – TOUR TIPS

This new set of Tour Tips was written by Liam Cormier, the vocalist of the hardcore band, Cancer Bats. You can check out the tips, after the break.

1. Sleeping Bag – Tour is exhausting. Playing shows, driving all night and sleeping wherever you can. One thing that’s important is to have a good set up to grab some ZZZ’s. Don’t be a dick and bring your full on old man sleeping cot, but throwing down for a nice sleeping bag is a pretty good investment.

2. Coffee Maker – If you’re like us and drink coffee like maniacs then a cheap way to drink good coffee is to buy a travel french press! You can buy some dope beans before you leave and then just filler up at truck stops, instead of drinking their brew that tastes like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Plus one pound of coffee will last 3 of us for a month. Do that math dawg.

3. Drugs – Not the kind that fuck you up, the kind that make you healthy! Everyone gets sick on tour and it fuuuuuuucking sucks. Best thing is to take some Tylenol night flu knock out mother fucker and hopefully wake up healthy. Drink some juice and crush those shows !

4. pod casts/ comedians – unless you’re in a band that hates each other (there’s more than you think!) We find it fun to all hang out and listen to some good pod casts and funny shit while we’re on huge drives (which is every drive in some cases) Best part is most good pod casts are free! We like WTF, Joe Rogan, and any good Comedian we can find. A good comedian tip is asking the locals, like if you’re in the southern US or UK you’ll find some funny dudes you may have never heard of.

5. Solid Vibes – everything will go wrong when you’re on tour and you just have to learn to roll with it and have a good time regardless. You’ll break down, you’ll get robbed, shows will suck and then you’ll break down again. The key is just to stay posi and have fun and a HUGE thing is being in a band with some good homies that will help you through all that together. You’ll spend so much time together, it works best when you like to hang out.
