Caswell – DREAM TOUR

The exciting thing about thinking who I would have on my dream tour is that it doesn’t have to be realistic whatsoever, right? So excuse my imagination running away with me right now.
Nina Simone would 100% be up there. The thing about Nina is that she has a rawness to her voice which exposes her soul, and yours. It gets to me on recordings so I can’t even imagine how I would cope seeing her in the flesh. I’d most probably be an emotional wreck by the end of the tour but it would be worth it. Even when her voice breaks on a recording like in ‘Sinnerman’, all the better, that’s a beautiful imperfection we don’t generally get to experience nowadays. I watched that Netflix documentary recently ‘What happened Miss Simone’ and she truly commands the stage, she is an absolute force.
Hands down I’d have to say Queen would be a dream come true to experience live, seeing Freddy Mercury would be insane! Not only would there be endless tunes to dance and sing along to, he would also break your heart and blow your mind with those vocals. On stage he would be truly in his element- I admire him as a performer so much. It would be a real show.
It’s always saddened me greatly that Jeff Buckley was only ever able to release ‘Grace’ and although it’s one of my favorite albums of all time, if he came on tour I’d be able to see a few other things that were never recorded. Listening to him kind of creates this little magical bubble for me, his music conjures a very specific mood and creates this little world I am intensely part of. I truly admire his lyric writing and have listened his songs to death so it would really be wonderful!
I’ve never had the chance to see Radiohead live and it’s been a long time coming! Would maybe make up for all the times my friends seem to have seen them and I haven’t, which feels like hundreds. Radiohead feels quite nostalgic for me as it takes me back to being 16 when I first got into them and listened to everything they’d ever released in the space of a few days. The endless amount of tunes they have is crazy, so many memories.
This list could go on and on, but I’ll try not to. Another artist on the bill would be one I’ve already seen twice, but damn did she blow me away. I’m in love with Susanne Sundfør’s voice! I was in utter awe when I saw her the first time, it’s really something to aspire to. She has such control over those beautiful, ethereal vocals and I love her magical story-telling songwriting. Those Scandinavian artists have got it on lock.

Keep up with the artist on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
