We spent a lot of time at the Rock Stage at Riot Fest throughout the weekend to see some of the amazing bands that passed through while they are on tour. One of them was the infamous, Coheed and Cambria. They are known for putting on a great performance and their Riot Fest performance as a part of their fall tour was no different.
Easily one of the greatest sets of the weekend, and trust me there were many great sets. Coheed didn’t need tons of theatrics, heavy bass drops or a fantastic light show to knock everyone at the Rock Stage off their feet. It was like they hadn’t missed a beat after losing bassist Michael Todd. They dabbled in a little bit of everything from their discography and pleased every fan, new and old. I’ve seen Coheed numerous times ever since I was a kid and they have been one of my all time favorite bands, I also found out almost every photographer in the pit had the same story as me. With all that said, I’m sure some nostalgia had a hand in it, but this was one of the best sets that I have ever seen them play. Having Josh back on the drums gave new life to the band and perfectly complimented Claudio’s awesome stage antics. Technically sound, with a great mix and an overwhelming stage presence made Coheed and Cambria an absolute must see at this year’s Riot Fest.
