Corey Harper – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, the singer-songwriter, Corey Harper, talks about the story of his first experience with live music. You can check out the story, after the break.

One of the first concerts I went to see was Ben Howard in Seattle when I was 16. It was the first time I saw someone perform and I realized that I needed to someday get myself up on a stage and perform to a crowd just like the one I was standing in. The whole show was mesmerizing.

I remember feeling like a new chapter in my life had begun, and I needed to chase this sensation I got from hearing an artist such as Ben play and try and capture it in some of my own shows that didn’t even exist yet.

I left the Moore Theatre in Seattle, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, almost like I wasn’t satisfied with what I was doing in life at the moment, and that was the first time I realized I needed to be an artist.
