Days Like These - CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the alternative rock duo, Days Like These, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story below:

So we were travelling down the rural east coast of Australia on tour with our good friends in Rumours, and we stopped at a service centre to get something to eat. Whilst waiting for our food, our live guitarist, Nav, decided to have a game on the claw machine. During his game, he managed to, very impressively, pick up the Charmander Pokeman plushie.

Nav was so excited when he picked it up with the claw, however, when the claw dropped it down the chute for Nav to collect, the plushie got stuck at the entrance and did not commence it’s trip out the exit. Nav was furiours, and rightly so. He very clearly won the toy – it was obvious that the toy should have fit down the chute if it were an appropriate size.

Noah, our drummer, did not want to see his friend suffer. He had the genius idea to fasten a length of straws together, creating one big stick. Noah shoved his hand up the exit chute, straw stick clenched in his palm. After 5 minutes of constant poking of the Charmander, and having to stop and reassemble his creation every 15 seconds, Noah had finally readjusted the plushie into a position where it fell down the exit. Nav was so happy when he was able to hold his new friend in his arms.

It’s safe to say that the Charmander was always around on our journey home to Brisbane.
