My dream tour lineup would definitely consist of some of my biggest influences and favorite artists – Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Drake, The Weeknd, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Halsey, and Taylor Swift. I grew up listening to all of these artists and they have all had a huge impact on who I am as an artist today. In particular, I love the structure of pop songwriting, and especially that moment when you find ‘the hook.’ I fell in love with pop music at a young age and was (and still am) fascinated by those melodies that get stuck in your head. I remember being a little girl in the backseat of the car at about 9 years old and listening to Maroon 5’s hit song “This Love” on the radio and analyzing the songwriting. I remember distinctly admiring how they were able to make the choruses feel so ‘huge’ and wondering how they were able to create a melody that immediately gave me such an unexplainable rush. I was just mesmerized! And it was in that moment that I absolutely fell in love with hook writing and those “big” feel good choruses that led me on this music journey as a Pop singer and songwriter. It’s my favorite thing in the world to figure out and put together all the puzzle pieces of a song into a memorable chorus that people want to sing along to and also feel empowered by.
I also chose these artists not only for their talent but for what they have chosen to do with their careers since they’ve gained a huge following. Artists like Taylor Swift inspire me with her philanthropic and feminine power. As a mental health advocate, I’d love to be able to follow in their footsteps and put on a huge mental health music festival featuring these influential artists.
I listen to all genres of music, but I definitely feel that I resonate most with Pop/R&B records. I love R&B because it is rooted in soul, and for me personally, nothing is more relaxing and emotional than a smooth R&B vocal. Combining that soulful sound with the catchiness of Pop and it feels like magic to me.
There are so many incredible musicians I would like to perform with. Music from around the world is magical and distinctive. I look forward to collaborating with more musicians and touring with as many artists as possible in this new decade. Excited about 2020 and making beautiful music, sharing new adventures with musical artists and music fans.
