Dirty Heads – TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, the hip-hop reggae band, Dirty Heads, give you their tips for being on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

1- Be careful what you say when you are at catering. This especially goes for festivals. You should never talk trash about other bands, especially here, you never know who is sitting at the table behind you. Pretty embarrassing to talk shit on the singer of some band just to find out his guitar tech is in line behind you getting mashed potatoes. Don’t be that guy.

2- We can’t all be Keith Richards. Get out side and exercise. If you are going to drink 20 beers every night and sleep in till sound check chances are by the end of tour you will feel like a gigantic turd and you won’t remember much of the tour.

3- Try to see a few things in each city. Sometimes it’s hard to get out and explore but it breaks up the daily monotony and can make tour even more fun. At least try to get one really good local meal.

4- Call your dad call your mom. It’s very easy to lose touch with the real world while on tour. Next thing you know a month has gone by and you have not talked to anyone at home. Maybe cousin Julie is pregnant? or aunt Martha won the bingo tournament! You don’t want to miss out on good family gossip!

5- Eat well! Try to avoid eating an entire suitcase of White Castle when you have those after show hungry pangs. Sometimes that is the most delicious thing in the world but you will regret it when your leather pants don’t fit the next night!
