Dropkick Murphys’ Halfway to St. Patricks Day Tour – TOUR REVIEW
The Dropkick Murphys’ “Halfway to St. Patricks Day Tour” hit Chicago for the city’s annual Riot Fest. The band’s performance wasn’t one any of the 30,000 attendees could miss. Check out our review of their set after the break.

One of the many Chicago favorites, the Dropkick Murphys, hit the main stage at Riot Fest for their Halfway to St. Patricks Day Tour. Yup, you heard it right, Dropkick is celebrating the halfway point to their favorite holiday of the year with a special tour!
The tour rolled right through Chicago and dropped off The Dropkick Murphys at the Riot Stage. At this time of the day, everyone was Irish and no one had any qualms with it. As the set progressed on and the night came upon the Riot Stage, the crowd who was inspired by Dropkick’s energy, became one big happy and slightly drunken Irish family. With their classic Irish Punk/Folk style they were for sure one of the more unique sounds of the weekend. Their sound was huge and encompassing that night which doubled the already massive crowd and brought some life to the tired and worn down fans. A crowd pleaser as always, Dropkick Murphys put on a hell of a show as usual and gave me, as well as everyone in Humbolt Park, a second wind.
