Eaten By Sharks – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the heavy metal band, Eaten By Sharks, shares one of her stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.

Cats are Jerks.
We were loading up to hit the road and play some dates in Canada, we were very excited to play an outside show, with some fantastic bands, in Hamilton Ontario @ the Southern Ontario Metal fest. We knew we had to bring our A-game for change over due to the fact there were a lot of bands on the bill. While Justin, Tyler, and Danno were all doing their regular rituals of warming up before the set, Chris Chaperon, our lead guitarist said he would set up merch and didn’t need to warm up as he had done so before he packed his gear at home. Chris is a good dude who’s home life includes a hobby farm with a few animals and LOTS of cats.

Not warming up led to be a big mistake cause when good old Chappy opened his guitar case his cat left him a surprise, he had pissed all over the fretboard right before he had packed up. The Singer from one of the headliners caught the moment and said, “Yeah I saw the guy open the guitar case, look concerned, then he picked up the guitar, smelt it, looked up into the sky, and yelled “FUUUUUUCK!!!” 30 seconds later Chap is in the bathroom with mounts of single-ply toilet paper, a guitar in the sink, water running, and people wondering what the fuck is going on.

We were able to make the stage for the set just in time but every-time Chris had to do some finger tapping he felt like he was grinding the cat piss into the fretboard, and that’s gross as hell, nobody shook his hands for a week after that. We had to burn the guitar case after that and the chap had to wrap his guitar in a towel until we got to a local music store on the way to the next show. Cats are jerks, stick with fish!
