Over the past few years, we’ve been fortunate enough to play shows in some of our favorite cities. Our favorite place to play beside our hometown of Chicago is New York City. A few years ago, we had the chance to play a live acoustic show for SiriusXM’s station, The Coffee House. But back then, it was our first time in New York City as a band, and we had to learn how to travel together.
After the initial stress of getting our instruments on the plane, we finally made it to our destination, running on little to no sleep. Luckily for us, the hotel let us check in early. It was a trendy hotel in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It wasn’t long after we got checked into the room that Graham thought a quick shower would help him feel refreshed, settled in, and ready to tackle rehearsals. What we didn’t realize was that the wall along the shower was totally transparent. Let’s just say we saw a little more of our band than we wanted to that weekend.
We’ve since gone to New York City as a band multiple times, playing amazing radio shows and Sofar Sounds gigs along the way. And while we’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons about traveling with a group, one lesson stood out above the rest: research the hotel we’re staying at before we book it.

Keep up with the band on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
