Ezkiel – PRESHOW RITUALS

In this Preshow Rituals segment, the R&B artist, Ezkiel, shares what he does before every show. You can check out his rituals, after the break.

If you want to have a good show you have to have a good morning and set the tone for your day. I start my morning’s by going to the gym and steam room followed by a long hot shower.

After I get dressed and groomed for the day and I get a nice big meal in me of whatever I’m craving.

I make my way to my studio space and I link with my team and we vibe and layout a schedule for the night which consists of talking about my set list, sorting out any kinks that need to be addressed, talking about girls, and what the after party plan is.

I like to arrive at the venue for soundcheck as soon as the space will allow. When I get there I walk around the space, the stage, check out the green room, talk to the staff and the sound engineer and envision my performance.

During sound check, I run through the first half of every song and make sure my gang is comfortable and all levels are right. I like to share the stage with my guitar player, my DJ and a LED wall contributing to the experience with unique custom visuals that I make specifically for live performances. I have to assure that all the visuals are qued correctly to its appropriate song. After soundcheck, I like to squeeze in one last good meal of what I’m craving at that moment.

Moments before my set I like to warm up my vocal, drink tea, have good people and pretty girls around and I pray and call my mother. A minute before I do a few jumps, shake my body out and then it’s game time.
