FEZ – PRESHOW RITUALS

In this Preshow Rituals segment, the alternative rock band, FEZ, reveals what they do before taking the stage. You can check out the story, after the break.

I don’t know if you’d call them rituals, but we always kill the time after soundcheck by doing a variety of challenges or games. These can be card games, bar games, etc. but the lead singer Rollo likes to ensure a culture of suffering with a variety of forfeits for the loser. Pickled eggs, mystery hooch, most recently our bassist Mischa was condemned to wearing a pair of neon-yellow sports glasses at a show in Bristol.

We also have a few pre-gig safety-checks. The latest addition has been a shoe-lace inspection after a mate of ours told us a horror story from one of his shows. His bassist accidentally kicked off his shoe into a young girl’s face mid-song. Weirdly, despite a bloody nose and a screaming mother, the fan still stayed to the end.

In light of current news, hand sanitizing is also a must, but we have to be careful that our guitarist “Fingers” doesn’t confuse the cleanser with his drink. Here’s hoping all the shows can go ahead again not too long in the future.
