My dream tour would be with the Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, and the Beatles. This is a very well-thought-out response, and not just my favorite bands off the top of my head (because that is a very long list). Here are my reasons why I would choose these three bands:
Foo Fighters: When I think of what it means to be a rock band, my mind immediately goes to the Foo Fighters. They are literally the personification of rock music. They have it all: extraordinary songwriting, unparalleled live performances, and Dave Grohl. What more could a band ask for? They would bring an energy to the show that no other band could.
Tenacious D: My reason for choosing the D is pretty simple. We’re talking about a dream tour here, and I think a vital component of being on a dream tour is having fun! Now, wouldn’t playing a string of shows with your heroes be enough fun for any musician? Absolutely. But come on, we’re talking about the D here! If you can name a band that would be more fun to hang out with than Tenacious D, I’ll pay your rent. It can’t be done. Also, if we have Dave Grohl on the tour, they can do a proper performance of Beelzeboss. See, I told you I thought this through!
Last and certainly not least, we have the Beatles. I want this band on the tour for selfish reasons. The Beatles are arguably the greatest songwriters of all the time, and I would give anything to spend time with them. Could you imagine the things you could learn from being on the road with John, Paul, and George? (Sorry, Ringo. I think you’re a great guy, and Octopus’s Garden is a nice song.) The Beatles are my heroes’ heroes’ heroes, so I’d be remiss if I didn’t have them on my dream tour.
