Fluorescents - DREAM TOUR
Join us as Fluorescents shares their dream tour lineup.
In this Dream Tour segment, the pop punk band, Fluorescents, reveals who they would want on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks below:
Our dream tour would be something along the lines of early 2000s Fall Out Boy, blink-182, & The Story So Far! Without those three bands, we wouldn’t be where we are today as Fluorescents.
Fall Out Boy’s “Take This To Your Grave” might be our biggest influence overall. To be able to hear them play some of those classic b-sides every night would be life-changing. We used to cover Grand Theft Autumn all the time in our early years & it would always take the energy to the next level. A lot of our earlier tunes, like “Locked Away”, draw heavy influence from the driving rhythms & hardcore inspired drum tracks. There aren’t too many artists that can write a hook like Patrick Stump. 10/10 album for sure!
Same thing goes for blink! A few of us in Fluorescents have been good friends since early high school & blink songs are some of the first we all learned on guitar. I’m pretty sure Bobby, our bassist, could play their entire discography on guitar at this point. As a band that has a tendency to want to push the limits musically, blink reminds us that sometimes it’s not so much about showing off, but rather, keeping it simple & letting the song’s melody & energy shine through.
The Story So Far’s “What You Don’t See” is easily one of the best pop-punk albums of all time! At the time, it felt like it was the one thing pushing pop-punk forward rather than recycling old ideas. It was the perfect combination of pop-punk & hardcore. To this day, it’s still an album we jam from beginning to end whenever we’re on tour.
