What better way to pass the time on tour than pranking everyone, am I right?
This one time, back when we were still known as Harbour, we took out Pipedreams from Prince Edward Island on tour across the east coast and non-stop, literally the whole time we were hitting each other back and forth with pranks. We would mess with each other and each other’s stuff, the whole time trying to one-up ourselves and see who could get who the worst. This resulted in Pipedreams breaking into our hotel room, and stealing literally all of our belongings, all the electronics out of the hotel room, and leaving a nice mess of ice cubes and beer cans everywhere. This had us shook, they got us GOOD!
SO we had to retaliate. We needed to really show them whose boss. We came up with a plan to kidnap one of their members and lead them on a scavenger hunt across town to find out where we left him! We rolled up to the house they were crashing in from the night before and asked their bass player Andy to come check something out in the van after we said the “passphrase” we would then dream-sack him and throw him in the van. As we were pulling this off, another member of theirs ran outside and tried to stop us, so we ended up in a tugging match to get him in the van as it was pulling away. We were able to pull it off, and continued to hide their own personal items (which we took from prior pranks) and hide them all across Moncton where we were playing that night. We ended up leaving Andy in his favourite Moncton pub, where we tied him peacefully to a chair, with a beer in hand, watching a wrestling match on TV. Once they found him we all shared a couple of drinks and headed to the venue to play our show.
We took a ransom video and pieced together the whole situation as a tour update which was hilarious and a great way to really show just how much fun we had doing this! Hope you guys enjoy!
