1. Don’t drink too much
The booze is great, but towards the end of a heavy few nights and shitty accommodation, it does start to take its toll. If you want to get the most out of performing well then try and limit your rock and roll-ness so you don’t end up killing yourself mentally and physically.
2. A good crew
Surrounding yourself with good people is the most important thing. Remove the bad eggs and keep the good ones. We don’t gig with guitar techs and management because we can’t afford it, but the people who do help out with merch/FOH are always incredible human beings.
3. Hand sanitizer
Our Hayden loves his hand sanitizer, cleanliness is important and there’s usually never any soap at the venues we perform at. If he’s taught us anything, it’s good hand hygiene.
4. A good car/van playlist
Vital, something everyone likes. We don’t just play rock and metal either, get a bit of Sinatra and some good quality 90’s pop tunes too! It all helps to keep the energy up and a positive vibe whilst you’re traveling long distances.
5. Make the most of it
Even though it’s exhausting and difficult at times, it’s still an incredible thing to be doing. As long as you’re making the most of the thing you love then keep at it and don’t lose faith. We’re so gutted we can’t line up any shows during this shit storm, but we’re so focused on getting back out on the road as soon as we can!
