Gerard Way’s Spring North American Tour 2015 – GALLERY + REVIEW

The alternative rock artist, Gerard Way (known for being the lead singer of My Chemical Romance), recently toured through Chicago during his spring 2015 North American tour with supporting act, Nuns. You can check out our photos and review from the concert, after the break.

Gerard Way, everybody. For those of you who don’t know, Gerard Way was the lead singer of the former band, My Chemical Romance. This past Saturday was Gerard Way’s first solo appearance in Chicago and you better believe The Vic was sold out and packed! Of course, I was one of the many people eagerly waiting to see what he had in store for us.

Before he came on though, a band called Nuns performed. Now I honestly did not know what to expect from someone called “Nuns”. I figured it could go one of two ways, either some folk group or something surprising with metal vocals. However, Nuns did neither and ended up being a new favorite for me. I was actually kind of surprised at how many people knew the lyrics to their songs already. They could hard hardly stand still and I got pumped watching them. If you haven’t heard of them yet, go check them out and you won’t be disappointed!

Once Gerard Way took the stage, no one was standing still. It made me happy to see all the continued support he has throughout the years. Even though he’s been doing his solo work for a little awhile he had a lot of songs to sing and inspiration to spread. He encouraged the crowd to be nice to one another, not only at the show but in life, in general with everyone. He made sure to pack his set list and just a few songs that he sang were “Action Cat”, “Zero Zero”, “Brother”, “Stop Leaving”, “How it’s Going To Be”, “Don’t Try”, “No Shows”, “Millions” and “Drugstore Perfume”. If you have never seen him perform, you better not miss out on this tour. Luckily he has just announced another one so be sure to catch tickets to at least one show.
