We are very happy to have Get Scared doing an exclusive Road Blog for us while they are on the HK Army Pizza Party Tour with Dead Rabbitt and Rob The Cartel! To see the band’s first entry, head to after the break.
Back on the road after a year hiatus resulting from our previous singer quitting shortly after the release of our debut album. Obviously we are very excited for the HK Army Pizza Party Tour. A year off feels like an eternity! Usually when we tour, we make it a goal to have an even crazier show than the night before. Thus far, that’s exactly how this tour has gone.
First day was great! Hung out with fans, brought some fans on the bus to have some pizza with us.. way fun! In no time at all, all the bands found out we had something in common. Shortly after, 150 beers, few bottles of whiskey and tequila all got finished off… had a great show, had a great night!
Second day started out with kind of a blur, but still the usually routine, chatting about how the show went, re collecting what happened later in the night.. laughing about people passing out on the ground outside of the bus and having to carry them to their bunks.
Of course everyone on this tour pumps each other up to play an even harder show and to party even harder after. Well.. we all played an amazing show, but after was a little different. Pre gaming the night on the bus as usual, we head to some bars down the street.. ended up at this bar with tons of people outside, fog pouring out the windows and rock n roll blasting!! For about 15 minutes it was a great time, then Limp Bizkit’s song “Break Stuff” comes on, some guy thought it’d be a good idea to start a mosh pit in this crowded bar, Alex Torres from Dead Rabbitts told him to chill out, of course testosterone and alcohol dont mix so instantly drama broke out. The mosher was pissed, we all saw what was happening so we rushed over to calm things down, even more important, to protect one of our brothers! About 30 seconds later it was an epic bar fight straight out of the movie Roadhouse! Our tour manager Eric Whitehurst got sucker punched in the mouth, Craig Mabbitt took two straight to the face, I (Johnny B) got a beer bottle broken over my head. I swear half the bar jumped in this brawl, one of our fans got punched in the face by a giant man. Blood and broken glass everywhere. Cops, the Fire Department, and Ambulances were there almost instantly, people trying to run and cops tackling em down to the asphalt. Tj Bell of Dead Rabbitts got arrested, we had to wait till almost 5 o’clock in the morning before he got released and now that we look back on it, its actually pretty damn funny.
Thankfully no one was hurt too bad, we had our whole crew back together and so we hit the road to the next show.
Third day we started out with caution, checking out everyones bruises and cuts. Morale was getting better every second of the day, hoping for no more shitty things to happen and of course an ex girlfriend shows up, but to see someone else whose on the tour. With quite the amount of public display of affection, and everyone with alcohol in them, AGAIN things went sour, thankfully no fights broke out but it was pretty damn close, long story short, everyone on the tour got together to help fix the situation and things mellowed out.
Fourth day of the tour turned out amazing!! Everyone’s bruises/cuts are feeling better! Great weather, margarita’s at Chili’s. Annnd we get to play Soma in San Diego, one of our favorite venues!! Everyone was very excited, it was like the events from the past few days never even happened. All the bands put on an incredible show!! We saw so many familiar faces from the crowd, hung out and talked to em’ all, all night Perfect day! Morale is over 100% we now have a 10 day break, hanging out in sunny california anticipating for the tour to start back up on the 25th at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA.
