In this Preshow Rituals segment, the singer-songwriter, Gjon’s Tears, reveals what he does before taking the stage. You can check out the story, after the break.
A week before the show we decide during the rehearsals which songs we want to play at the concert (We always change our set order to see how the audience reacts). That’s also the time we choose how to dress because we like to look different on stage. When we are ready for the concert’s set it is also the moment we are speaking about new songs and trying to build them.
The day before we fix up the details. We also playing the full set several times because we are a little bit perfectionist. Some hours before the show, we bring our gear to the venue and we make the soundcheck. When it’s done we like to eat all five together (the guitarists: Martino and Pascal, the bassist: Samuel, the drummer: Gaëtan and the singer and keys: Gjon) and we like to have fun and chill during the meal.
After dinner, it’s time to get excited and nervous for the upcoming show so that’s why each one of us likes to have some time alone for himself. Some minutes before the gig we gather around to drink some shots (of vodka) to calm our nerves and to have a good time on the stage. We hug each other and are becoming energetic for the stage.
