If you’re looking to party, there is no better way than to ‘Go Hard’ with Kreayshawn. She, along with, Rye Rye, Chippy Nonstop and Honey Cocaine came to The Metro in Chicago on the Group Hug Tour.
Unfortunately, Rye Rye was not able to perform, so the first act to take the stage was Chippy Nonstop. Don’t let her small size fool you; Chippy is one performer who is not afraid to let loose on stage. Even though her set consisted of only a few songs, she danced and made use of the whole stage for all of them. She really got the party going and you could see the crowd definitely feeding off her energy by dancing and cheering along. At one point, she let people from the floor come on stage and be a part of her “twerk team,” which people went crazy for. Chippy lives up to the second part of her stage name because once she hits the stage, she goes nonstop for the whole set. She is one person you do not want to miss the chance to dance with!
Next up was Honey Cocaine. Onstage sporting a D. Rose jersey that she bought that day, she tore up the stage. Watching her perform, I could tell she loves what she does. Even after being shot at a few months ago, that did not stop her from touring again. She even said it herself, “After that shit happened, I didn’t know what to do but pray to God and write a song about it because I love music.” She kept the party, which Chippy started, going by performing some old songs from her mixtape, along with some new ones. People going onstage started to become a trend when Honey invited some concert goers onstage and dance with her during one of her songs. She also added few covers to her set, which the crowd seemed to really love. After her set was over, she invited people to come down to the merch area for a meet and greet. At that point, a hoard of people ran down the stairs to take her up on the offer. I wouldn’t be surprised if she comes back through Chicago on a headline tour next time.
Coming onto the stage and wasting no time, Kreayshawn started off with her song “U Trippy Mane” off her “Young, Rich, & Flashy” mixtape. Everyone was on their feet, singing and dancing along. Performing songs from her mixtape “kittys x choppas” along with some news ones, she was one continuous party. During her set, Chippy joined her onstage and they picked out people from the crowd to join them for a twerk contest. At the end of the contest, the winner (who said it was her birthday) ended up winning 72 dollars. After Chippy left, Kreayshawn continued and in between songs she would banter with the crowd. She did a great job of getting the crowd pumped for each song. Before the night ended, she told the crowd to put up one finger and once she did everyone chanted, “One big room full of bad bitches,” over and over until she went into her most well-known song “Gucci Gucci,” which you heard everyone singing even louder than her.
If the Group Hug Tour is coming to your city, you better grab a ticket so you can twerk the night away. All of the artists on this tour give it their all on stage and are there to have a good time, which is nothing short of what they leave you with.
