Halcyon Way – TOUR PRANKS

In this Tour Pranks segment, the metal band, Halcyon Way, share some pranks that have happened on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

So, in 2013, we were out on a short USA tour with UDO. We were getting along with the guys really well and had a good run, and at the end of it, the UDO guys decided to prank us. Sometimes on a tour you don’t know if a band will be into it and you don’t want to piss them off, so we didn’t really expect this, but they went to a porn shop and bought all sorts of stuff – basically like birthday party decorations made out of penises, posters of dudes, and they saran wrapped our bus shut. In addition, they put a 6’ inflatable penis on the hood like a unicorn horn, and there was an inflatable sheep involved too, haha. So we were cracking up over it.

Since they drew first blood, we had to respond in kind. So when they were doing their encore, which was always ‘Balls To The Wall’, I grabbed the inflatable penis (which had since made its way to our merch table). We were at Mojoe’s in Joliet/Chicago, and the way that stage was set up if you were up there you couldn’t see anything to stage right other than the crowd unless you were the drummer, in which case you could see someone walking up the ramp. So I start making my way up the ramp during the chorus of the song, and Francesco saw me coming up the ramp with this giant dick and he starts cracking up and losing the beat a little. The rest of the band was up on the mics doing the chorus and I slowly shuffled back and forth behind them with the penis and on the way back they finally saw me and were like “WTF???”

Later in the song, the penis ended up in the crowd getting batted around like a beach ball, which was really funny. I had the inflatable sheep signed by the entire tour party and have it in my memorabilia room at home. Good times. You can watch a video of the whole thing here:
