In this Dream Tour segment, the pop punk artist, Heather Sommer, reveals who she would want on her ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks, after the break.

The dream tour would be alongside Paramore, blackbear, Machine Gun Kelly, Julia Michaels, or Charlie Puth. All five have had a significant impact on me as a musician and creative individual. The one common theme all of these artists have is that in addition to being artists, they are incredible songwriters who are creating for not only themselves but for other artists and musicians.

I grew up listening to Paramore all through middle school and high school, so the fact that there is a current pop-punk revival happening couldn’t make me any happier. Hayley Williams’ vocals are so powerful and her tone is unmatched. MGK and blackbear are two musicians who have shown an amazing amount of versatility through their music and come off as extremely genuine to their fanbase. Their music and melodies have definitely made an impact on me and my songwriting style.

When it comes to Charlie Puth, I was able to see him play live at The Bitter End in NYC back in 2014 before he became the household name he is today. He performed for a room of maybe 80 people and was definitely nervous because I don’t think he had performed live much, so seeing his transformation has been a really wonderful thing to witness. The growth he’s had over the last 7-8 years has been an incredibly inspiring journey to see. Julia Michaels inspires me as a writer and vocalist and having been told by numerous friends and fans that my vocal tone is similar to hers, it would only make perfect sense to be on tour with her one day of course! haha.

Keep up with her on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
