Holy Oysters – PRESHOW RITUALS

In this Preshow Rituals segment, the psychedelic band, Holy Oysters, share what they do before every show. You can check out their rituals, after the break.

After soundcheck comes the pre-show moment of liberty. Wander around and talk with the people, sleep a bit backstage, smartphone zombie and everything in between is possible.

We’re wearing lockets based on our symbols on stage. In theory, the ritual is to meet backstage a little before the show to put them on, have a little moment together to get in the zone and be ready to perform.

What truly happens is that generally, Antonin misses the rendezvous, so someone will go out to find him and he’ll arrive 30 seconds after that. So we’ll play our own version of Venue Hide and Seek for a bit (think Benny Hill meets Richie Finestra with pre-show stress bonus).

Once the interlude is over we do some kind of group hug with our manager and FOH/light guys before going and that’s it!
