HOLYCHILD – TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, Liz Nistico of the brat pop duo, HOLYCHILD, gives you her tips for being on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

1. TRAIN! Get your body ready for tour! For me this includes running, swimming, rehearsing, being super healthy for a whole month before I get on the road (at least)! It’s so important for my body to be in its best shape so I can stay healthy throughout the tour.

2. SLEEP +WATER ARE UR BFFs! I drink like, 4-5 liters of water a day at least. I know it makes us stop the van a lot but I don’t care! My body really needs it. Same thing with sleep. Ideally, I’ll sleep 8-9 hours a day, which is hard on tour but it’s so important to remember that those aspects are necessary.

3. TAKE ALONE TIME! When you’re on the road, you’re surrounded by other people all the time. It’s really easy to get sucked into other people’s energy and forget about yourself. I really need alone time while I’m on the road. I like to swim in hotel pools or go for a run before a show, or at least take a walk by myself once a day. I remember once I even locked myself in a bathroom for a few hours because I needed to write and be alone so much! Don’t underestimate this one. Take care of yourself!

4. ALWAYS WEAR CLOTHES THAT U LIKE! Tour is the most fun! I am really inspired visually by different places we go, so I like to always be wearing cute things that I’d be down to photograph if I want. Life is art! “It’s not vanity it’s commerce.” Ha, jk about that, but really I love clothes and it’s fun to express yourself daily through them.

5. GO WITH THE FLOW! This is a pretty necessary one for traveling. Something is probably going to go wrong. Don’t stress! Life is fun and you’re so fortunate to be traveling! While you’re on the road you will have to go with the flow with things like food, sleeping arrangements, weather, people you meet, really everything. Enjoy yourself and be nice to everyone you meet!
