1) Be nice to everyone: You can gain fans at any moment. Always be friendly and open to talking to people at shows, coffee shops, or even gas stations. You never know when new opportunities will present themselves, and no one likes a grump. Remember there is no separation between you and the kids coming to your shows. You just smell worse and your home is a van.
2) Roll with the punches: Especially if you are just starting your touring career. It may not always go as planned, and it isn’t always super exciting, but it gets better. If you keep a positive attitude you will have fun no matter what the road throws at you.
3) Baby wipe showers: Pretty self explanatory. Find a nice bathroom. Get clean. Make this a daily occurrence.
4) More socks and undies, less shirts and jeans: You may be tempted to bring all those sweet band shirts and fresh slacks you just bought for tour, but don’t do it. Socks and underwear are a huge priority. If you think you have a good ration of shirts/jeans to socks/undies, half the shirts/jeans and double your sock/undies load. Old socks/undies equals stinky band member, and nobody likes the stinky kid.
5) You are in this together: Your fellow bandmates aren’t just people you are on the road with. They are your brothers and sisters. You guys are family. When you are on the road its you and them versus the world. Stick together.
