India Dupriez – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, the electro pop artist, India Dupriez, talks about the story of her first experience with live music. You can check out the story, after the break.

My first concert experience that I properly remember is Taylor Swift, My mum got tickets for her and me for my sixth birthday.

The concert was held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Taylor was very young then. It was her first trip to Australia and was a very minimalistic setup. There were no dramatic projector screen, pyrotechnics, fancy lights or back up singers/dancers. It was basically 18-19 year old Taylor, her guitar, cowboy boots, and big curly hair.

Looking back on it now. I loved the concert, I remember her thanking the crowd for their applause and participation and making her feel welcome. I remember my mum promising me ice cream after the show. I mean who doesn’t want ice cream when they are 6, right? I remember one song which stood out and still remains one of my favorite Taylor songs that I still listen to today – ‘The way I loved you”

Looking back on it from a young age, I knew for a fact this was something special, even if I didn’t know what exactly it was. I’m now 17 years old and am in awe of what she had accomplished at my age. I still have my tour shirt which now fits me properly!
