Indigo Starrcar – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, Scott Posada, from the indie pop band, Indigo Starrcar, talks about the story of his first experience with live music. You can check out the story, after the break.

This story starts off a bit sad since my cousin had plans of going to this concert with her boyfriend but he had broken up with her just a couple of days before. The show was John Mayer, at “The Palace of Auburn Hills” touring for his album Battle Studies. Since I was a high school “know-it-all” brat that thought he had the best taste in music ever, I had no expectations of taking those tickets from my sad cousin but somehow relented.

To make things even better, I just had been broken up with by my first girlfriend so it ended up becoming a bro-date with my good friend Isaiah. We truly had only negative thoughts towards John Mayer, thinking we were way too cool, but then he hit this simple chord right around 3 minutes into his first song “Heartbreak Warfare.” It had just the right tone and the right amount of distortion to where I still get chills to this day.

After that song was done, my buddy and I sat back and enjoyed the best concert we’d ever experienced. All it took were two breakups and one friend talking me into a bro-date to change my musical direction for life!
